Over the river and through the woods -- and through five lanes of bumper-to-bumper traffic -- to grandmother's house we go.
If Thanksgiving travel plans have you anywhere near a road, Google's got your back. The experts analyzed traffic patterns from Thanksgiving week last year, aka the Monday before Thanksgiving through the Sunday after, to predict where traffic will be the absolute worst this year. Best of luck if you're driving in:
- Los Angeles
- Washington, D.C.
- San Francisco
- Philadelphia
- Dallas
- New York
- Chicago
- Houston
- Austin
- Miami
The lineup includes the usual suspects: L.A. is known for jam-packed roadways, and NYC should be no surprise. About a third of the cities are in Texas (woof), and even Miami is going to feel the Turkey Day heat (ugh). If you're traveling, we recommend avoiding the road on Wednesday, driving home on Sunday instead of Saturday and bringing lots of snacks.
Happy Turkey travels!
