Marriott and Netflix announced Wednesday that they have joined forces to bring the streaming service to hotel room televisions. Marriott is the first hotel chain to offer Netflix on TVs, though we wonder if Netflix loyalists will stick to watching on their laptops.
“Because consumers are choosing to take their streaming content with them when they travel, Marriott Hotels is making the industry’s first rollout of Netflix a priority," Matthew Carroll, Marriott's vice president of brand management, said in a press release.
The hotel won't just be giving away Netflix passwords; visitors will still have to use their own login to access the streaming service. As of right now, Marriott plans to offer the services in 100 properties by the end of this year and 300 hotels by the end of 2016.
According to the press release, these hotels have the Netflix streaming capabilities already:
- New York Marriott East Side
- San Jose Marriott
- Princeton Marriott
- Newport Marriott
- Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Solana
- Bethesda Marriott Suites
And these hotels are getting Netflix next:
- Marriott Marquis Washington, DC
- San Francisco Marriott Marquis
- Atlanta Marriott Marquis
- Dayton Marriott
- San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino
- Anaheim Marriott
Happy streaming!
