How To Do Oahu Like A Local

There's a big difference between the Oahu tourists see and the Oahu locals live every day. As Hawaii's most populated island, Oahu has so much to see and do -- and if you want to experience the best of the island, do it like a local.

In the video above, former Miss Hawaii Malika Dudley and Shane Reynolds, the host of Travel Channel's web series, Top 10 Locals List, show us around Oahu. They stop to make lei, hike, bodysurf, tour the skies in a helicopter, and more. In between all the outdoor adventuring, the pair chows down on some of Hawaii locals' favorite foods -- poke (raw ahi tuna) and shave ice.

An essential part of experiencing Oahu like a local is embracing Hawaii residents' approach to life. As Dudley explains it, "we really live our life with no fear, no hesitation, no regrets."

Basically, dive headfirst into everything the islands have to offer. You'll be glad you did.
