Surfing Amid The Ice Of Iceland Is North Of Awesome

Like chills with your thrills?

Check out this clip from the film "Strange Rumblings in Shangri La," in which surfers take an ice boat to a surf spot in Iceland. The setting is amazing and looks damned uncomfortable.

But pro surfers Dion Agius, Nate Tyler and Brendon Gibbens conquer the icy swells, showing that extreme latitudes are no obstacle in the search for the perfect wave.

Two cold-weather adventurers in western New York recently showed that you don't even need an ocean to catch a few breakers. They braved a blizzard to surf Lake Erie.
