We've seen some amazing secret beaches in our day, but nothing quite blows the mind like a giant aquamarine swimming hole on a Samoan volcanic island.
... Right?
To Sua Ocean Trench -- whose name literally means "big hole" -- is a 98-foot-deep hole on the Samoan island of Upolu. Intrepid adventurers descend the steep ladder down into the hole, jump from the wooden platform and swim the aquamarine waters below, through a rock arch and among the fish into what visitors say feels like a movie.
Nearby blowholes, lava fields, lush gardens and tide pools await swimmers as a reward for braving this tropical thrill ride.
Want to see To Sua for yourself? Follow the small, faded sign from the village of Lotofaga. You'll have to come during visiting hours and pay a small fee, but it's well worth it to see what other explorers call "one of the most breathtaking places" EVER.
Happy hole-ing!
